Dr. McGavic received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville. He has extensive experience in addiction psychiatry and has worked in a residential substance abuse treatment center. He also has experience in outpatient clinical care, inpatient and emergency psychiatric care, as well as providing consultation liaison services for several area hospitals. He enjoys treating patients with mood disorders, personality disorders, Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and addiction issues. He takes pride in his ability to listen closely to his patients and values a team approach, working together with patients and their therapists to manage their psychiatric care.
